Good afternoon, everyone!
Welcome to today’s match against
Swansea — where, for some reason,
the spotlight seems to be on me!
A warm welcome to our visitors
Swansea, and especially their
manager Alan Sheehan who is a
compatriot of mine. Alan was a
great player and always provided a
tough opponent – I faced him a few
years ago when he was at Luton. I
hope everyone connected with the
Swans have a good day with and
gets home safely after the match.

Of course, today wouldn’t have been
possible without the efforts of my
testimonial committee, who’ve
gone above and beyond to make
this year special. Not only have
they organised today’s friendly,
but they’ve also put together a full
calendar of events as part of the
testimonial year.
this summer, following a slightly
different schedule than in previous
years. On a personal note, I was
thrilled to be back on the pitch in
Manchester last weekend after
returning from injury.
Swansea will provide a great test
for us before we head to Doncaster
next Saturday. I know many of the
lads out there today will be eager
to impress — so rest assured, we’re
taking this one seriously.
When I joined this football club
nearly ten years ago, I never
imagined I’d still be here preparing
for a testimonial. But Exeter has
become such a special place for
me — there’s truly nowhere else I’d
rather have spent the majority of
my career.
You’ll 昀椀nd more about those events
elsewhere in the programme, but
I’m particularly looking forward to
the cocktail evening at the Cocktail
Club and the charity car wash
(which some of my teammates
might be surprised to hear they’re
involved in!). If you’d like to take part
in any of the events, please get in
touch with the committee — they’re
brilliant.
It’ll also be great to catch up with
Josh Key. He’s really shown what a
fantastic player he is since joining
Swansea, and I’m sure you’ll all
join me in giving him a very warm
welcome back to St James Park.
It’s where I’ve started a family with
my partner Jadeine, made lifelong
friends, and found a community I’m
proud to call home. I’m especially
grateful to be sharing today with all
of you — our incredible supporters
While today is my testimonial, it’s
also a vital pre-season 昀椀xture. With
the league campaign kicking off
next weekend, today’s match is a
key step in our preparations. The
squad has worked incredibly hard
